Is Oklahoma Turning Democratic Blue? Possibly!

When you think about Oklahoma, you think of a conservative red state, the buckle of the bible belt.

Is Oklahoma turning into a democratic state?

Oklahoma has been a red state for a long time, but we must remain vigilant if we want to keep it that way.

Paul Ziriax, the Secretary for The Oklahoma State Election Board, issued a letter about election security and integrity to the members of the Oklahoma Legislature on August 13, 2021. He stated that if a breach or cyber incident involving Oklahoma’s election system had occurred, Oklahoma Cyber Command and its state and federal partners would have already conducted a full investigation into the matter with the full cooperation of election officials. The letter makes evident that there is not now, nor has there been, any creditable evidence that a cyber breach or cyber incident occurred involving Oklahoma’s election system.

The three largest voting manufacturing companies are election Systems & Software, Dominion Voting Systems, and Hart Intercivic. They all put modems in some of their tabulators and scanners. The reason given for this is so unofficial election results can be quickly relayed to the public. The National Institute of Standards and Technology, which provides cybersecurity frameworks for state and local governments, recommends that voting systems not have wireless network connections.

Oklahoma uses Hart Intercivic voting machines. The State Election board owns the machines. Only they can provide information regarding the devices, such as when they were last certified and any maintenance performed but have not been forthcoming with the data.

Interestingly, only the State Election Board knows how many machines are in each district. A call to a local election board revealed that they have no oversight regarding the devices and no way to verify anything. Blaine County confirmed that maintenance was completed on their machines by the state election staff, February 2020 but was unable to provide any other information.

Concerned citizens want to be able to see the election results, not what someone says it was. They are looking for equal protection under the law and want a full forensic audit in Oklahoma to ensure votes were counted the way they were cast. There are a lot of people in Oklahoma who do not want their state turning blue.
